President Lee Jaemyung and First Lady Kim Hyekyung visited Buenos Aires, Argentina, as the final stop on their South American tour. This visit was the first official visit to Argentina by a President of the Republic of Korea in 22 years, and the summit with President Javier Milei was the key agenda item.
The two leaders met at Casa Rosada, the presidential palace in Buenos Aires, after a welcome ceremony and commemorative photo session, and discussed ways to cooperate in key mineral sectors such as lithium, energy, and food. They also looked into the possibility of expanding trade and investment by combining Argentina's resources with Korea's manufacturing and technological competitiveness.
They also discussed cooperation with Mercosur, and the scheduled wreathlaying at San Martín Square was canceled due to rain. After finishing a dinner meeting with local Koreans and a cultural performance, the presidential couple ended their visit to Argentina and departed for home.
