The Chinese Navy's 83rd Fleet Arrives in Surabaya, Indonesia for a Friendly Visit

On August 2, the Chinese Navy’s 83rd Fleet arrived at Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, Indonesia, beginning a fourday goodwill visit. This visit is part of the formation’s task of conducting a comprehensive longdistance training voyage.
Around 10 a.m. local time, after the formation docked, it was welcomed by staff from the Chinese Consulate General in Surabaya, representatives of the Indonesian Navy, overseas Chinese and Chinese nationals, personnel from Chinesefunded institutions, and student representatives. During the welcome event, the two sides held a brief ceremony, exchanged greetings, and took group photos.
During the visit, naval officers and soldiers from China and Indonesia will carry out activities such as mutual ship visits, discussion exchanges, and friendly sports matches. The formation commander will also meet with relevant officials from the Indonesian government, navy, and educational institutions, and host a deck reception and open ship visit. After the visit ends, the two sides plan to conduct a joint maritime exercise to further strengthen mutual trust between the two militaries and maritime cooperation.
