China-Czech relations strengthen cooperation, Zhao Leji meets Tomio Okamura to promote economic and trade ties and people-to-people exchanges Expand cooperation in new energy, tourism, and direct flights to unlock new opportunities in bilateral relations

On July 23, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, held talks with Czech Chamber of Deputies Speaker Tomio Okamura at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Zhao Leji said that ChinaCzech relations are in line with the longterm interests of both countries and also meet the expectations of people in both countries. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Czech side to jointly promote the sustained improvement and development of bilateral relations, and to strengthen communication around political mutual trust, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural and peopletopeople exchanges. He also noted that the two sides can leverage mechanisms such as the ChinaCzech Joint Economic Committee and the ChinaCEEC Expo to expand cooperation in new energy, electric vehicles, education, culture, tourism and other fields. The legislative bodies of both sides should also maintain close exchanges, strengthen coordination at multilateral occasions, and jointly safeguard the multilateral trading system and the stability of supply chains. Tomio Okamura said that the Czech side adheres to the oneChina policy, is willing to further strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in tourism, economic and trade affairs, cultural relics exhibitions, and direct flights, and welcomes more Chinese tourists to travel to the Czech Republic.
