China Establishes Ultra-Low Earth Orbit Technology Innovation and Industrial Development Alliance

The Ultra-Low Earth Orbit Technology Innovation and Industrial Development Alliance was established in Shenzhen, promoting collaborative efforts to tackle key technologies Focusing on aerodynamic design, on-orbit maintenance, and electric propulsion, it will help advance the transformation of achievements and upgrade the industrial ecosystem

The Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics jointly hosted the 2nd UltraLow Orbit Science and Technology Academic Conference in Shenzhen on June 27, and announced at the conference the official establishment of the UltraLow Orbit Technology Innovation and Industrial Development Alliance. According to the introduction, the alliance was initiated by 34 organizations in China's ultralow orbit field, with the goal of integrating resources across industry, academia, research, and application, promoting collaborative efforts on key technologies, the transformation of research results, and the development of the industrial ecosystem, while also improving the standards system and technical specifications. The conference featured a main venue and multiple subvenues, with exchanges focused on topics such as aerodynamic design of ultralow orbit vehicles, onorbit maintenance, airbreathing electric propulsion, space environment detection, and remote sensing applications. More than 250 experts, scholars, and industry representatives from universities, research institutes, and commercial aerospace companies attended the conference.
