According to a July 31 report from the Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Municipal Supervision Commission, with approval from the Chongqing Municipal Committee, the Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Municipal Supervision Commission has filed a case to review and investigate serious disciplinary and legal violations by Luo Linquan, former deputy secretary of the Jiulongpo District Committee of Chongqing. The notice said that Luo Linquan was found to have resisted organizational review, accepted banquets that may have affected the fair performance of official duties, improperly accepted gift money, improperly borrowed a vehicle from the owner of a private enterprise, and improperly engaged in profitmaking activities. He was also accused of having close collusion with unscrupulous businessmen, using his position to seek benefits for others in project contracting and business operations, and illegally accepting a huge amount of property. After study by the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval from the Chongqing Municipal Committee, it was decided to expel Luo Linquan from the Communist Party, cancel his retirement benefits in accordance with regulations, and confiscate his illegal gains; the issues involving his suspected crimes and related property have been transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law.
