As of now, the workshop explosion accident at Huasheng Fireworks Manufacturing and Discharge Co., Ltd. in Liuyang City, Changsha, Hunan has caused 21 deaths and 61 injuries. After the accident, local emergency response and firefighting forces rushed to the scene to carry out rescue efforts, and related work is still being continuously advanced.
CCTV reporters at the scene stated that the explosion caused noticeable damage to surrounding buildings and facilities. Some roof tiles on houses were blown off, and windows in nearby courtyards were also damaged. The scene has remained in a highintensity rescue state since last night, with multiple ambulances and fire trucks on standby, and support forces coming from places including Liuyang and Changsha.
At present, a twotier control and management system has been implemented at the accident site: the core rescue area is about a onekilometer radius, and the peripheral control area is about three kilometers. Since there is still a black powder magazine within the factory area, the onsite risk is relatively high. All people within the control zone have been evacuated, and only professional rescue personnel are allowed to enter and work.
