Hong Kong teachers and students experience aerospace technology in Beijing
Hong Kong teachers and students at the aerospace practice camp experience the country's scientific and technological achievements, getting up close to the Long March rocket and the Tianhe core module The VR simulated launch ignites their passion for pursuing dreams, helping Hong Kong youth broaden their horizons and learn about aerospace development
On July 22, more than 60 teachers and students from Hong Kong took part in the "New Era DreamBuilding Program" indepth science and technology practice camp at the China (Beijing) Aerospace Science Center in Beijing. They got a closeup look at aerospace exhibits such as the Long March series launch vehicles and the core module of the Tiangong Space Station, and experienced aerospace technology through simulated launches and VR equipment.
Many students said that this visit gave them a more intuitive understanding of the achievements of the country's aerospace development, and also gave them a deeper appreciation of the story of Hong Kong astronaut Lai Kaying. The interviewed students believed that aerospace no longer feels far away, and that they too can become participants and dream chasers.
The teachers leading the group said that such practical activities on the mainland help enhance Hong Kong youths' interest in aerospace and technological innovation, and also help them deepen their understanding of national development and the cutting edge of technology. The program is hosted by the Soong Ching Ling Foundation of China and jointly supported by relevant public welfare organizations and Hong Kong youth groups.
