The People Power Party has nominated former Korea Communications Commission Chairperson Lee Jinsook as its sole candidate for the Dalseong district in Daegu ahead of the June 3 byelections for National Assembly seats. In Busan's Bukgap constituency, former Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Park Minsik and former KBS journalist Lee Youngpung will be decided through a primary. The nomination management committee announced these nomination review results at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 1st. Along with this, Incheon Yeonsugap district chairperson Park Jinjong, former lawmaker Lee Yong for Gyeonggi Hanamgap, and former Broadcasting and Communications Commission Vice Chairperson Kim Taekyu for Ulsan Namgap were also nominated without competition. For Gongju, Buyeo, and Cheongyang in South Chungcheong Province, the party suspended nominationrelated decisions regarding former Presidential Chief of Staff Chung Jinseok's run, and said followup procedures may proceed depending on whether an exception is recognized by the party's Ethics Committee.
