On July 3, the School of Advanced Manufacturing at Minjiang University was officially unveiled in Fuzhou. The school will focus on three major areas: extreme manufacturing, specialized robotics, and precision instruments, and will promote closer alignment between the discipline and industry through industryuniversityresearch collaboration.
According to reports, Fujian is accelerating the development of its advanced equipment manufacturing industry, while Fuzhou is also forming multiple industrial clusters worth hundreds of billions of yuan. As smart manufacturing upgrades continue, demand for interdisciplinary engineering and technical talent is steadily increasing. The new school hopes to train talent more specifically to meet the needs of industry.
At the unveiling ceremony, the school signed cooperation agreements with a number of nationallevel research platforms and industry enterprises. In the future, it will improve the efficiency of scientific research transformation and students' practical capabilities through joint R&D, mutual appointments of personnel, projectbased integrated teaching, and a dualmentor system involving both the university and enterprises.
