The State Council recently issued the “15th FiveYear Plan” for National Health, which sets out the goals, key tasks, and policy measures for building a Healthy China during the “15th FiveYear” period.
The plan proposes that by 2030, a systematic framework for the healthfirst development strategy will be gradually established, the basic medical and health system will be further improved, public health security capabilities and primarylevel capabilities in disease prevention and treatment as well as health management will be significantly enhanced, the allocation of medical resources will be more optimized, and the multitiered medical security system will be further strengthened.
The plan also centers on health services for the entire population, across all dimensions, and throughout the full life cycle, and arranges 24 key tasks, covering areas such as health and safety, an integrated medical service system, new drivers for highquality development in the health sector, and the improvement of governance capabilities.
