President Lee Emphasizes Consideration for Those Disadvantaged in the Reform Process
President Lee Jae-myung emphasizes careful consideration and communication in reform and state administration Take a look at the state governance message that also takes into account opposing views
President Lee Jaemyung said that in the process of promoting reforms, people who are disadvantaged by the changes should be given as much consideration and respect as possible. He stressed careful state administration, saying that opposing views should also be taken into account.
Presiding over a senior aides' meeting on the 21st, President Lee said he would think more deeply about what the people need most and would refine state affairs in greater detail with a humbler attitude. After acknowledging his shortcomings at a press conference earlier and saying he would communicate and listen more, he maintained the same tone at this meeting as well.
He said that since reform is about adjusting interests, there may be pushback from existing interest groups, but the scope and speed of change should be calibrated through dialogue and deliberation. He also called for measures to ensure public safety, including transportation, public security, fire response, and emergency medical services, as well as efforts to address wage arrears ahead of Chuseok.
