Taiyangcun Station on the Qiangui Railway Resumes Service
Taiyangcun Station on the Qiangui Railway has resumed operations, restarting transportation at the Liuzhou hub 20 days after the earthquake through emergency repairs. Nearly 2,000 people worked together to overcome the challenge, helping the transportation order of the new western land-sea corridor gradually recover.
On the 6th, China Railway Nanning Group reported that Taiyangcun Station on the Qiangui Railway, which had been temporarily closed due to the earthquake, has resumed train operations after 20 consecutive days of emergency repairs, and transportation order at the Liuzhou railway hub is gradually being restored.
Taiyangcun Station is located in Liuzhou and is an important relief station and key railway hub node on the New Western LandSea Corridor. On May 18, two earthquakes of magnitude 5.2 struck Liunan District, Liuzhou, with the epicenter just 300 meters from the station. This was followed by multiple aftershocks, which damaged the station yard and caused the relevant trains to detour along nearby lines.
To restore transportation as quickly as possible, the railway authorities organized coordinated emergency response teams from multiple specialties and mobilized nearly 2,000 workers and almost 200 pieces of machinery and equipment for the construction work. Relevant units also investigated geological hazards through surveys and adopted comprehensive measures such as spiral steel pipe piles, Dtype temporary bridge beams for overhead support, and highpressure grouting to advance the repair of the station yard and surrounding lines.
