The Bundang Police Station in Gyeonggi said on the 20th that it is investigating A, a man in his 30s, on charges of stealing and driving another person's vehicle while intoxicated.
A is accused of secretly stealing a parked BMW sedan from a commercial building parking lot in Bundanggu, Seongnamsi, around 11:30 p.m. the previous night and driving it for about an hour. After receiving a report, police arrived at the scene and found A asleep with the vehicle parked about 10 km away from the site around 12:40 a.m., and arrested him.
A breathalyzer test by police confirmed that A's blood alcohol concentration was at a level that would result in license revocation. Police are investigating the exact circumstances, believing that A mistook the vehicle for his own car and drove it while the owner was briefly away.
