Lee Wontaek, the elected governor of Jeonbuk State, proposed a meeting to discuss investment in Saemangeum with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
According to the Jeonbuk State GovernorElect Transition Committee, Lee recently sent a personal letter to Nvidia headquarters and the head of Nvidia Korea explaining Saemangeum's investment potential. He introduced Saemangeum as a blank slate with virtually no regulations, emphasizing that it offers the rapid scalability and regulatory flexibility Nvidia needs.
Lee cited clean energy, abundant water resources, and the regulatory sandbox as strengths of Saemangeum. He also suggested discussing Saemangeum's future over a meal of samgyeopsal, taking into account that Jensen Huang may prefer a relaxed atmosphere for conversation.
