The Cyberspace Administration of China Releases the "China Personal Information Protection Report (2025)"

On June 12, the Cyberspace Administration of China released the China Personal Information Protection Report (2025), which reviews the main progress made in personal information protection work in China in 2025 and summarizes relevant experience and practices. This report is also the first comprehensive annual report on personal information protection issued by the CAC.
The report shows that during the 14th FiveYear Plan period, relevant departments have continuously improved institutional development around personal information protection, promoted the introduction of multiple laws and regulations, strengthened the crackdown on illegal and criminal activities, enhanced the capacity of social services, and advanced publicity and education efforts. The main text of the report is divided into seven parts, covering areas such as toplevel design, regulatory governance, social cogovernance, publicity and education, and external exchanges and cooperation. It also compiles relevant laws and regulations, national standards, and typical judicial cases in an appendix.
The head of the Network Data Administration Bureau of the CAC said that releasing the annual report helps strengthen exchange and mutual learning in the field of personal information protection, and also helps raise public awareness of protection. Next, the cyberspace authorities will continue to work with relevant departments to advance personal information protection work and promote the reasonable use of personal information on the basis of ensuring security.
