On the afternoon of July 17, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Shanghai West Suburban Guesthouse, who was in China to attend the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the HighLevel Meeting on Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence, as well as to conduct a working visit.
Xi Jinping said that China and Cambodia are friendly neighbors that have long supported each other, and the two sides should continue to carry forward their traditional friendship, strengthen strategic mutual trust, advance cooperation on the “Diamond Hexagon” and the building of the ChinaCambodia community with a shared future. China stands ready to strengthen exchanges with Cambodia on experience in party and state governance, promote the building of the “Industrial Development Corridor” and the “Fish and Rice Corridor,” and deepen cooperation in areas such as electricity, agriculture, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and infrastructure.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues including combating crossborder crime, advancing regional peace and stability, and global governance of artificial intelligence. Hun Manet said that Cambodia firmly upholds the oneChina principle, is willing to continue deepening cooperation with China, expand trade and project cooperation, and promote the peaceful resolution of the CambodiaThailand border dispute through dialogue and negotiations.
