High-quality development of basic education has taken new strides

General Secretary Xi Jinping recently made important instructions on basic education, emphasizing the need to fully implement the Party's educational policy, fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and promote highquality development of basic education. On July 22, the National Basic Education Work Conference was held in Beijing, where arrangements were made for related work. The article points out that basic education plays a fundamental and guiding role in the national education system and is an important cornerstone in building a strong education country. In recent years, China has continued to advance balanced development of compulsory education, support policies for preschool education, teacher exchange and rotational assignments, and groupbased school management, with educational equity and the quality of student development continuously improving.
