Guangxi openly selects 1,400 rural industry leaders

Recently, the Guangxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs launched the selection of trainees for the 2026 “Head Goose” program for leaders in rural industry revitalization, planning to openly select 1,400 cultivation candidates across the region, a scale significantly larger than in previous years. This selection is mainly aimed at rural industry leaders such as chairpersons of farmers’ specialized cooperatives, owners of family farms, heads of rural collective economic organizations, leaders of leading agricultural enterprises, and largescale growers and breeders. It also encourages “new farmers” who are skilled in smart agriculture, artificial intelligence, ecommerce live streaming, rural operations, and the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage crafts to apply. Those selected will take part in a oneyear customized training program and receive supporting services such as mentor followup, financial support, and project assistance. Guangxi said it hopes to continue driving income growth for more farm households and promote the development of rural industries by expanding the scale of “Head Goose” cultivation. At present, eligible applicants may submit their applications to the local agriculture and rural affairs department by June 10 in accordance with the procedures.
