A man in his 50s who went out barefoot for sea foraging was found dead

A man in his 50s died after entering the waters off Jinjunmyeon, Masanhappogu, Changwonsi, Gyeongnam, to gather shellfish at low tide. According to the Changwon Coast Guard, a report was received on the night of the 25th that a friend who had entered the sea had not returned for a long time, and the coast guard and fire authorities conducted a joint search. The missing person was found underwater in cardiac arrest and was taken to a hospital, but was ultimately pronounced dead. The coast guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident and said it was determined that the man had entered the water without basic equipment such as a life jacket. The coast guard urged people to wear safety gear, saying that gathering shellfish at low tide at night or after drinking is extremely dangerous.
