The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Housing and UrbanRural Development said that for damaged rural houses caused by the recent flood disaster, recovery and reconstruction will be advanced in phases through three approaches: repair and reinforcement, rebuilding on the original site, and new construction at an alternate site, with the goal of basically completing the task before the Spring Festival in 2027.
According to the official introduction, the flood disaster has so far affected about 52,000 rural households in Guangxi, with Nanning, Guigang, Qinzhou, and Fangchenggang among the hardesthit areas. The housing and urbanrural development authorities have organized more than 120 technical experts to go to the front line to conduct housing safety assessments, and to carry out emergency and safety inspections of damaged houses, helping residents resume normal life as soon as possible.
According to the assessment results, houses with minor damage will undergo partial repairs; dilapidated houses with general damage will be repaired and reinforced; severely damaged or collapsed homes will be rebuilt on the original site. For homes that truly cannot be rebuilt on their original site, the relevant departments will scientifically select suitable locations and support affected residents in building new homes elsewhere.
