Zhejiang Taizhou strengthens maritime safety precautions to deal with cold air and the peak fishing season
Taizhou maritime safety保障: multiple patrols to prevent collisions, safeguarding transportation during the National Day holiday Maritime authorities strengthen warnings and duty coverage, click to see how the peak fishing and tourism season is protected
During the National Day holiday, the coastal waters of Taizhou, Zhejiang were affected by a cold air mass, which strengthened offshore winds. At the same time, the peak fishing season and the tourism peak for the islands overlapped, leading to frequent encounters between commercial vessels and fishing boats and increasing maritime safety pressure. The local maritime authorities therefore made advance arrangements and strengthened risk prevention and control.
The Taizhou Maritime Safety Administration carried out maritime patrols and electronic sailings through patrol boats, drones, smart maritime platforms, and video surveillance, promptly monitoring the movements of fishing boats and merchant vessels, and conducting inspections and risk warnings for重点 vessels. So far, the relevant departments have conducted 141 remote electronic patrols and inspected 4,751 vessel trips.
At passenger piers and fishing ports, law enforcement personnel strengthened onsite supervision, implemented systems such as 24hour duty shifts, realname verification of passengers, headcounts, and predeparture selfinspections, while distributing collisionprevention safety reminders to crew members, requiring strict implementation of lookout, listening watch, and duty systems to ensure safe and orderly maritime transport and offshore operations during the holiday.
