President Lee Jaemyung expressed gratitude for the investment plans of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jaeyong and SK Group Chairman Chey Taewon at the 'Three Major Mega Projects for the Republic of Korea's Great Leap Forward National Report Meeting' held on the 29th at the Blue House Guest House.
The president said the two chairmen's announcement that they would make largescale semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) investments in regions outside the capital area was a decision for the future of the nation and its people. At the event, he bowed deeply to the two men, and both chairmen responded in kind.
More than 70 companies related to the semiconductor and AI industries attended the report meeting that day, and the government also announced plans for fostering the industries and measures for building infrastructure. President Lee also said he would support, within possible limits, requests from companies for industrial complex infrastructure support and improvements to local education environments.
