The Foreign Ministry Responds to the “Five Eyes Alliance” Accusation of a Chinese “Spy Threat”
The Five Eyes Alliance’s accusation that China recruited “intelligence personnel” has sparked controversy, and Mao Ning said the claim is highly ironic China responds to questions about its long-term espionage activities; more details are in the report
According to a Xinhua News Agency report on June 4, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at the regular press conference, in response to claims by the "Five Eyes" alliance accusing China of recruiting socalled "intelligence personnel," that such accusations are highly ironic.
Mao Ning pointed out that as the world's largest intelligence cooperation alliance, the "Five Eyes" alliance has long carried out largescale, systematic espionage activities in many parts of the world, yet it turns around and accuses China of a socalled "spy threat," a claim that is itself unconvincing.
The remarks were made in response to relevant reports raised during the press conference that day.
