On July 30, the Quantum Information Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held its founding meeting in Beijing. The committee will focus on the formulation and revision of industry standards in areas such as basic common technologies for quantum information, quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum precision measurement. Its secretariat is located at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
According to the report, the establishment of this body is an important measure to implement the national plan to accelerate the cultivation of future industries. It also aims to give full play to the fundamental role of standards in promoting the highquality development of the quantum industry and to provide support for relevant international cooperation.
After the founding meeting, the committee held its first plenary meeting, where it reviewed and approved documents such as the charter, the secretariat's working rules, the management measures for working groups, the standard system, and the procedures for standard development and revision, and deployed key tasks for the next stage.
