On the morning of June 26, President Xi Jinping met with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tariq, who is on an official visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two sides jointly announced their decision to build a ChinaBangladesh community with a shared future in the new era and to further elevate bilateral relations. Xi Jinping said that China has always attached great importance to developing friendly and cooperative relations with Bangladesh and is willing to continue mutual support on political mutual trust, exchanges on governance experience, and issues concerning each other’s core interests, as well as support Bangladesh in upholding its national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. China also said it is willing to work with Bangladesh to advance highquality Belt and Road cooperation, strengthen cooperation in green and lowcarbon development, the digital economy, information technology, artificial intelligence, and other fields, and expand cooperation in healthcare, culture, education, and local exchanges. Tariq said that Bangladesh attaches great importance to its relations with China and hopes to further deepen cooperation in trade and investment, connectivity, agriculture, science and technology, green energy, education, and healthcare, and reiterated its commitment to the oneChina principle and support for China’s coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.
