From Red Army Soldier to Curator of the Zunyi Conference Memorial Hall

The 1935 Zunyi Conference was an important turning point in the Chinese revolution. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, young students from Chang'an University recently visited the Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum to revisit this red history and feel the inheritance of the Long March spirit. The article tells the story of Kong Xianquan, a witness to the Long March: he was wounded in the Battle of Laoshan Pass and later stayed in Zunyi. After the founding of New China, he served as the first director of the Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum, and together with his colleagues, he collected relics and historical materials under difficult transportation and harsh conditions, laying the foundation for the museum. In 1993, Kong Xianquan's granddaughter, Kong Xia, became a volunteer speaker and has long been giving redhistory talks at places such as Laoshan Pass and the Four Crossings of the Red River, delivering more than 1,000 lectures in total. Today, Zunyi's red culture is further integrated with urban life, and the blocks around the memorial museum have become spaces where residents can experience history and culture. The article concludes by noting that young people in the new era draw strength from these stories, transforming the Long March spirit into motivation for study and serving society, and continuing to carry forward the red bloodline in their respective posts.
