According to a June 12 report by China News Network, the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education announced an appointment and removal decision at Jiangnan University that day: Li Jian was appointed President and Deputy Party Secretary of Jiangnan University, and Chen Wei no longer holds the position.
Public information shows that Li Jian was born in April 1978, holds a graduate degree and a PhD in science, and is a member of the Communist Party of China. He is currently a professor and previously served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of East China University of Science and Technology.
This personnel adjustment was made by the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Education. At the meeting, responsible officials from the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education and the Education Working Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee attended and spoke.
