A research team led by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, together with the University of Science and Technology of China and other institutions, has made new progress by conducting noble gas isotope analysis on lunar soil samples returned by Chang'e6.
The study shows that there is a systematic difference in the solar wind received by the near side and far side of the Moon, and that the Earth's magnetosphere plays a role similar to a "speed regulator" in this process. The relevant findings were published on July 15 in the international academic journal Nature Geoscience.
This research helps deepen the outside world's understanding of the EarthMoon space environment and the propagation mechanism of the solar wind.
