Qinghai's Green Computing-Electricity Collaborative Development Accelerates
The Qinghai Green Computing Power Demonstration Park uses a wind-solar-storage-charging integrated computing center to promote the collaborative development of direct green power supply. On July 27, reporters visited the ThreeRiverSource Green Power Smart Computing Integration Demonstration Park of China Unicom in Xining, Qinghai, and saw that the park uses a core model of “wind, solar, storage, charging + computing power center,” combining clean energy with computing infrastructure to promote the development of the green computing power industry.
The report said that some of the park’s machine rooms have now been put into operation, with a computing power scale reaching 17,000 PFLOPS, making it an important carrier of Qinghai’s green computing power. Through a microgrid control system, the park regulates fluctuating power from wind and photovoltaic generation, achieving 100% local selfuse and absorption of green power within the park, and exploring an operating model of “direct green power supply and realtime coordination between green power and computing power.”
The article also noted that Qinghai, as the country’s first pilot province for coordinated green power and computing power, has in recent years continued to advance the development of green computing power, data annotation, and data trading. By the end of 2025, both the share of installed clean energy capacity and the share of installed new energy capacity across the province will remain at high levels, while computing power infrastructure is also expanding in step, and coordination between green power and computing power is becoming an important direction for local industrial upgrading.
