The Chinese side says the China-ROK fishery issue dialogue mechanism is mature

On June 26, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a regular press conference that China and South Korea already have a relatively mature dialogue mechanism on fisheries issues and have maintained close communication.
In response to South Korean President Lee Jaemyung’s concern over Chinese fishing vessels’ "illegal fishing," Guo Jiakun said that maintaining stability in the maritime situation between China and South Korea and a good order for fishery production serves the common interests of both sides.
Guo Jiakun also stressed that China has consistently required Chinese fishermen to operate in accordance with laws and regulations, and will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen.
