The Foreign Ministry Responds to the Issue of People-to-People Exchanges Between China and Japan
Decline in China-Japan People-to-People Exchanges: Lin Jian Responds to the Difficulties in China-Japan Relations and Japan's Responsibility If the Japanese side retracts its erroneous remarks on Taiwan, it can create conditions for restoring exchanges
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian responded at the regular press conference on May 7 to the issue of reduced peopletopeople exchanges between China and Japan.
In response to a reporter's question, “Does the Chinese side hope to resume peopletopeople exchanges between China and Japan?”, Lin Jian said that ChinaJapan relations are currently facing serious difficulties, and the root cause lies in Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's false remarks on Taiwanrelated issues, with full responsibility resting with the Japanese side.
Lin Jian said that if the Japanese side sincerely hopes to improve bilateral relations, it should abide by the four political documents between China and Japan and existing commitments, retract its erroneous remarks, and safeguard the political foundation of the relations between the two countries through concrete actions, creating conditions for normal exchanges and visits.
