Director Baek Jongyeol held an interview in Samcheongdong, Jongnogu, Seoul on the 28th ahead of the release of the film 'Reawakened Man: The Red,' and explained the direction of the film's action choreography.
Based on the webtoon 'Reawakened Man,' the film tells the story of Seokhwan, who has the ability to come back to life every 72 hours. Director Baek said that to convincingly portray cartoonlike power within a realistic setting, he actively used wire action, VFX, and 3D digital characters scanned from the actors.
He explained that at the beginning, he focused on stripping away the coolness of the scenes and bringing out the ordinariness and emotions of the characters, and that supporting characters such as his close friend Youngha and younger sister Yerin were important in enhancing the protagonist's sense of realism. 'Reawakened Man: The Red' will be released on the 30th, right after the Chuseok holiday.
