Yunnan Emphasizes Improving Quality and Efficiency in United Front Work at the Grassroots Level

On July 30, Yunnan Province held a provincial grassroots United Front work meeting in Chuxiong to deploy further strengthening of grassroots United Front work. Li Baojun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Minister of the Provincial United Front Work Department, attended and delivered a speech. This was Yunnan's second provincewide grassroots United Front work meeting, following the onsite advancement meeting held in Honghe Prefecture in November 2024. The meeting introduced that in recent years, all parts of Yunnan have placed increasing emphasis on grassroots United Front work, and its effectiveness has continued to become evident. Ruili City has strengthened the functions of its overseas Chinese service station at the port, providing services such as legal consultation, green channels, and dispute mediation on a regular basis; while places such as Chuxiong have built United Front friendship and service bases and grassroots United Front work stations, promoting the extension of services to the grassroots level. At the same time, by strengthening United Front work teams in townships, villages, and communities, the problem of no one to take charge of or carry out the work at the grassroots level has been alleviated. The meeting proposed that in the next step, Yunnan will continue to advance the building of a demonstration zone for ethnic unity and progress, do a good job in United Front work around the healthy development of the private economy, give full play to the role of nonCPC representatives, and coordinate the advancement of grassroots United Front work in other fields. Through onsite observation and exchange discussions, the meeting also summarized the experiences and practices of places such as Chuxiong Prefecture, and relevant officials from provincial departments and various prefectures (cities) attended the meeting.
