On September 25, the day of the MidAutumn Festival, Xiamen Wutong Passenger Terminal saw a peak in passenger traffic on the XiamenKinmen "small three links" ferry route. The terminal was decorated with MidAutumn elements such as Jade Rabbit lanterns and fullmoon ornaments, attracting many travelers to take photos. Many passengers chose to travel across the sea between Xiamen and Kinmen during the holiday, either returning to their hometowns to pay respects to their ancestors, visiting relatives and friends, or sightseeing during the vacation. That morning, as the ferry "Marco Polo No. 1" docked at Wutong Terminal, 280 passengers disembarked in an orderly manner. Some passengers also carried Minnan specialties and Kinmen souvenirs, ready to reunite with family and friends. The Gaoqi Border Inspection Station said that driven by holiday travel demand, passenger flow on the XiamenKinmen "small three links" route has continued to rise, and the number of inbound and outbound travelers during the holiday is expected to exceed 20,000, nearly 30% more than on ordinary days. To improve clearance efficiency, border inspection authorities have added convenient channels and, through multidimensional data correlation and preemptive services, ensured smooth passage for elderly and young groups as well as passengers carrying large luggage.
