President Lee Jae-myung expresses respect for North Korea's system and willingness to resume dialogue with North Korea

President Lee Jaemyung attended the Eurasia regional meeting of the Presidential Council on Peaceful Unification of the Fatherland, held on the 1st in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, and said he would respect North Korea's system and would not pursue unification by absorption. He also said he would keep the promise not to engage in any hostile acts. President Lee stressed that North and South Korea must end confrontation and achieve peace, and that turning the armistice regime into a peace regime is the key to peace on the Korean Peninsula. He also expressed his willingness to resume dialogue and contact, saying he would keep knocking until North Korea's door opens. According to the presidential office, President Lee has consistently referred since taking office to respecting North Korea's system, excluding unification by absorption, and ending hostile acts.
