Southwest Oil and Gas Field's Natural Gas Output Exceeds 25 Billion Cubic Meters in the First Half of the Year

PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gasfield Company announced that in the first half of this year, its natural gas output reached 25.31 billion cubic meters, and oil and gas equivalent surpassed 20 million tons, both setting new highs for the same period in history. The report shows that the company achieved double growth in oil and gas production, with natural gas output increasing by 1.296 billion cubic meters year on year, while crude oil output also maintained relatively rapid growth. In exploration and development, the company drilled five highyield industrial gas wells with daily output of over 1 million cubic meters in the first half of this year, and discovered the Shunqing Oilfield, the first tight oilfield in the Sichuan Basin, providing resource support for subsequent crude oil production growth. Facing the complex geological conditions of the Sichuan Basin and the difficulty of ultradeep exploration, the company has continuously advanced the development of conventional and unconventional gas, improving perwell output and recovery rates. The company said it plans to put another 177 new wells into production in the second half of the year, adding 4.188 billion cubic meters of annual production capacity. It is expected that by the end of this year, oil and gas equivalent will exceed 41 million tons.
