China-Russia Intellectual Property Offices Launch Pilot Liaison Officer Mechanism
The China-Russia intellectual property liaison officer mechanism pilot has been launched, making it more convenient for enterprises to consult on cross-border rights protection Helping promote smooth economic and trade exchanges, and improving the efficiency of protection and feedback in each other’s countries
On September 15, the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property announced the joint launch of a oneyear pilot project for the "ChinaRussia Liaison Officer Mechanism," aimed at better serving economic and trade exchanges between the two countries and helping enterprises address intellectual property issues encountered in the other country.
Under the arrangement, both sides will each designate one intellectual property liaison officer. When Chinese enterprises do business in Russia, or Russian enterprises do business in China, if they have related inquiries, they may first contact their own country's liaison officer, who will then relay them to the counterpart liaison officer and provide feedback within a reasonable period.
This pilot project will run until September 14, 2027. Relevant authorities said the mechanism will help improve the convenience for enterprises in obtaining intellectual property protection and consultation support.
