The revised draft of the Measures for the Administration of Internet Information Services is once again seeking public comments

The Cyberspace Administration of China, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and other departments, recently again solicited public comments on the "Measures for the Administration of Internet Information Services (Draft for Comment on Revised Draft)". This public consultation aims to further improve the relevant system, promote the healthy and orderly development of Internet information services, and better align with existing laws and regulations on cybersecurity, data security, and related areas. The public draft shows that the revisions cover multiple aspects, including access for Internet information services, account management, content governance, platform responsibilities, algorithmic recommendations, and labeling of AIgenerated content. Relevant departments said that this revision focuses on addressing new issues in Internet governance, including fake traffic, online violence, management of algorithmic recommendations, and standards for intelligent information services. According to the announcement, the public may submit comments by email or letter, and the deadline for feedback is August 2, 2026. The consultation draft and explanatory documents have been made public simultaneously for further study and feedback from all sectors of society.
