In the Lee Chaewon murder case, signs that Jang Yoon-gi’s father destroyed some evidence

Regarding the case of Jang Yoongi, who was brought to trial on charges of murdering high school student Lee Chaewon while she was on her way home in Gwangju last May, it has been confirmed that Jang's father destroyed some evidence after the crime. The prosecution believes that Jang killed Lee after attempting to sexually assault her, and explained that the damaged adult doll and several mobile phones found at his home were key evidence that would reveal the motive for the crime and additional circumstances. However, it has been reported that after the search and seizure, Jang's father cut up the doll and burned the mobile phones as well. However, the prosecution did not separately file charges against Jang's father, due to a special provision that does not punish crimes committed by close relatives. The police stated that at the time, it was difficult to determine whether those items were key evidence.
