According to information released by Anhui University on June 11, the Strong Field Magnetic Experiment Facility, known as the “super microscope” in the field of materials, has completed all 6 experimental measurement stations and is expected to enter operation after completing system debugging and acceptance of the whole machine by the end of 2026.
This facility is China’s first largescale scientific facility integrating multiple control technologies such as highintensity lasers, strong magnetic fields, and ultralow temperatures. It can be used to observe the microscopic structure of materials, track electron movement, and identify tiny defects, helping researchers gain a deeper understanding of material properties.
In the future, the research team will rely on this platform to focus on research in areas such as electronic materials, energy materials, and magnetic materials, in support of the development of lowpower electronic devices, energy storage technologies, and rareearth magnetic materials.
