On August 4, the National Development and Reform Commission said that in response to the severe rainstorm and flooding disasters recently experienced by Liaoning and Jilin, it had, on top of the previously urgent allocation of 60 million yuan in central budget investment, added another 300 million yuan to support the two provinces in carrying out postdisaster emergency recovery.
The funds will be mainly directed to disasterarea reconstruction projects, helping restore normal production and daily life order locally as soon as possible. The NDRC said it will continue tracking and coordinating, guiding the development and reform departments of the two provinces to speed up fund implementation and advance project construction, while strengthening supervision and management to ensure that the central budget investment delivers results.
