Shanghai's improvements in livelihoods are visible, focusing on the lives of residents in old urban districts and upgrades to community services Step into residents' homes and service stations to feel the warm changes within the 'small matters'
On July 15, General Secretary Xi Jinping conducted an inspection and investigation at the Citizens' New Village residential area on Ban Songyuan Road Subdistrict, Huangpu District, Shanghai, focusing on improvements in residents' lives in the old city area.
At the community comprehensive service point, the General Secretary checked on the livelihood changes residents have experienced, such as bidding farewell to "carrying a bucket to the toilet"; he also went into residents' homes to learn about housing and living conditions; and at the community Party and mass service station, he paid attention to daily service保障 such as the convenient vegetable basket.
The report emphasized that what may seem like trivial "small matters" for the people are related to the warmth and coldness of daily life, and also reflect the key focus of livelihood work.
