Zhao Leji Holds Talks with Singaporean Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng

Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met with visiting Speaker of the Singapore Parliament Seah Kian Peng at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on June 12, and the two sides exchanged views on ChinaSingapore relations and cooperation in multiple fields. Zhao Leji said that the Chinese side is willing to work with the Singaporean side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, further strengthen political mutual trust, support each other's core interests and major concerns, and expand cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, the digital economy, clean energy, and technological innovation, while continuing to advance highquality Belt and Road cooperation. He also noted that China and Singapore should strengthen peopletopeople exchanges and multilateral coordination, promote communication and exchanges between legislative bodies and between lawmakers, and provide legal guarantees for the highquality cooperation between the two countries. Seah Kian Peng said that Singapore is willing to deepen cooperation with China in such areas as trade, investment, green development, and climate change, and continue to promote the development of ASEANChina relations.
