As Chinese President Xi Jinping visited North Korea for the first time in seven years, it was reported that key officials from the diplomatic, economic, and defense sectors of both countries were present in large numbers at the North KoreaChina summit.
According to the Korean Central News Agency on the 9th, the summit held in Pyongyang the previous day was attended by North Korea's Foreign Minister Choe Sonhui and Defense Minister No Kwangchol, as well as China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun. In particular, the fact that the defense chiefs of both countries were present together at the North KoreaChina summit drew attention, as it differed from the 2019 summit.
During the summit, in addition to strengthening strategic cooperation, expanding exchanges in the diplomatic, law enforcement, and military fields was mentioned. Regarding the composition of those in attendance, the Unification Ministry said it would watch related developments, noting the possibility of exchanges between the militaries.
