North Korean Premier Pak Tae-song Visits China and Meets with President Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping and Pak Tae-song Hold Meeting, Signaling Strengthened North Korea-China Friendship and Cooperation Contact following the Pyongyang summit draws attention to bilateral relations
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with North Korean Premier Pak Taesong, who visited Beijing.
According to China’s staterun Xinhua News Agency, on the 10th Xi received Pak Taesong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice Premier of the State Affairs Commission, as well as Premier of the Cabinet, in Beijing. Premier Pak visited China leading a North Korean delegation to attend the 65th anniversary commemorative events of the signing of the North KoreaChina Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.
This visit to China will continue from the 10th to the 12th, and immediately after arrival, Premier Pak laid flowers at the Monument to the People's Heroes in Tiananmen Square. Following Xi’s visit to Pyongyang last month, where he held a summit with North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un, he has now met another senior North Korean official, showing continued contact between the two countries.
