Oh Se-hoon to Push Supply of 10,000 Studio Apartments Specialized for College Students
Seoul's youth housing measures will supply 10,000 studio apartments specialized for college students by 2030. Check out the benefits of reducing commuting burdens with interest-free deposit support and shared housing.
Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon announced that, as part of youth housing measures, the city will supply 10,000 studio apartments tailored for university students by 2030. The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to work with private operators to secure studio apartments and share houses, focusing on university areas and neighborhoods with convenient access to campuses.
This measure also includes interestfree support for deposits for lowincome university students. Earlier, the Seoul Metropolitan Government launched 'The Dream House+' ('더드림집+'), an integrated public housing supply system for young people and university students, and set a goal of supplying 74,000 units of youth housing by 2030.
In addition, 'Science and Engineering Talent Growth Housing' for master's and doctoral researchers in science and engineering fields will also be expanded, centered around areas with a high concentration of universities. Mayor Oh emphasized that the city will concentrate policy capabilities so that young people do not leave Seoul because of housing problems.
