Li Qiang attends the opening ceremony of the Summer Davos Forum and delivers a speech

On the morning of June 24, Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Summer Davos Forum in Dalian and delivered a speech. Political leaders from multiple countries and about 1,800 representatives from all walks of life around the world attended the event. In his speech, Li Qiang focused on the forum's theme of "Scaling Innovation" and, drawing on China's economic practice, explained the important role of innovation in development. He said that 2026 is the first year of China's 15th FiveYear Plan, and that the Chinese economy has generally maintained steady performance amid a complex international environment, showing new changes and resilience in many areas. Li Qiang also pointed out that innovative cooperation is an important path to addressing global growth challenges, calling on all parties to strengthen open cooperation, safeguard the stability of global industrial and supply chains, and improve global governance in areas such as artificial intelligence. The Chinese side said it will continue to expand market access, optimize the business environment, and welcome companies from all countries to invest and do business in China.
