Shanghai and Fujian Launch 5 Kinmen-Matsu Tour Routes

Shanghai-Fujian cross-strait tourism routes: linking cultural and tourism resources in Kinmen, Matsu, and Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou The mini-three-links drive two-way interaction, unlocking new ways to experience culture and seaside vacations

On the 4th, the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism said that the culture and tourism departments of Shanghai and Fujian jointly launched 5 premium “crossstrait multistop tourism routes” that span the Taiwan Strait, and, relying on the “mini three links” sea route, connect the culture and tourism resources of Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou and other places with those of Kinmen and Matsu, promoting twoway interaction in the tourism markets on both sides of the strait. The Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism previously announced that Shanghai residents can register through qualified travel agencies to join group tours and individual tours to Kinmen and Matsu. The relevant routes can officially depart starting in May, covering different needs such as cultural experiences and seaside vacations. Among them, the inaugural route “Shanghai—Fuzhou—Matsu” is highly representative. Tourists can first experience Mindu culture in Fuzhou, then travel to Matsu via the “mini three links” passenger route from Fuzhou Huangqi to Matsu. Industry insiders interviewed believe that such routes help integrate Shanghai’s source market, Fujian’s resources, and the tourism features of Kinmen and Matsu, while also expected to drive consumption in local lodging, dining, transportation, and specialty products.
