Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on June 4 that it was "quite ironic" for the "Five Eyes alliance" to accuse China of having a socalled "spy threat."
Mao Ning made the above remarks at that day's regular press conference. She pointed out that as the world's largest intelligence cooperation alliance, the "Five Eyes alliance" has long been accused of carrying out systematic intelligence activities around the world, yet it in turn levels similar accusations against China, a move that lacks credibility.
The relevant remarks were a response to a reporter's question about foreign media reports that the "Five Eyes alliance" accused the Chinese side of recruiting socalled "intelligence personnel."
