The 9th CrossStrait Grassroots Governance Forum was held in Xiamen on the 13th. As one of the subforums of the 18th Straits Forum, the forum held exchanges on “the sustainable development of crossStrait rural areas and emergency coordination.”
Many attendees said that grassroots governance, rural development, disaster prevention and mitigation, and emergency management are important areas where the two sides of the Strait can strengthen cooperation. The forum also combined topics such as rural revitalization, community emergency mobilization, and postdisaster reconstruction to share the experience and practices of both sides in grassroots governance.
Guests attending the forum believed that the two sides can promote more pragmatic cooperation through sustained grassroots exchanges, resource matching, and youth interaction, enabling grassroots communities to achieve more results in rural development, livelihood improvement, and public safety.
